Congratulations to the Venice Indians Freshmen Volleyball team for winning the Riverview High School Tournament this weekend. The Freshmen Indians are now 13-0 on the season and are set to play the Sarasota Sailors tomorrow night.

Football Player with Downs Syndrome Scores Touch Down

Matt Zeisel, a 15 year-old freshman with Downs Syndrome, plays for the St. Joseph Benton freshmen team in Kansas. With his team trailing 46-0 he got the call. It was third game of the season, with the cooperation of the rival Maryville High School coaches and players, Zeisel ran 60 yards down the sideline for his first touchdown.

The Bradenton Christion Panthers have won another title. On Saturday the Panthers defeated the Saint Stephens Falcons 25-23, 25-27,15-8 in the 11th annual All-County Volleyball Tournament at Manatee High.
The Panthers are no strangers to winning the county tournament, since this is the sixth time they have done so in its 11 year history.
